DR MURRAY’S PROFILE

Murray is a highly experienced psychotherapist and psychosexual therapist with a wide range of clinical experience including the NHS, charity run services, hospices, leading London therapy practices and his private practice. He works with individuals and couples with relationship and psychosexual issues as well as other life challenges. Murray’s PhD research was an in-depth study of male loss of sexual desire amongst heterosexual couples. His clinical experience draws from working with a wide range of issues, including: sexual relations, bereavement, trauma, rape, life-threatening illness, violence (both domestic and social), addiction, parental issues, couple and family concerns, personal and life challenges, as well as a diverse mix of mental health challenges such as depression, suicide and chronic fatigue and pain. Murray also sits on the board of trustees for COSRT, the professional body that oversees psychosexual practice and therapists for the whole of the UK. Murray also trains therapists for a number of therapy teaching organisations. He also provides regular psychotherapeutic insights to a number of relationship advisors and writers at the Observer, Huffington Post, Cosmopolitan and more. In his wider working life, Murray has worked as a schoolteacher, school counsellor, and advertising Creative Director in some of London’s leading ad agencies. In 2020, Murray was named as one of London’s top sexual therapists by the Evening Standard.
