DOMINIQUE’S PROFILE

Hello I am Dominique. I was born in Belgium and grew up in West Africa, where a mix of cultures, languages, and religions shaped my life. These early experiences influenced my understanding of human connection and diversity, and they continue to inform how I approach my work as a therapist.

Now based in the UK for 31 years, I am a registered therapist specialising in psychosexual and relationship issues. I believe everyone deserves relationships and a sex life that brings joy and fulfilment, and this belief inspired me to pursue a career as a psychosexual and relationship therapist.

I work with adults from all walks of life, including diverse cultural, religious, and gender backgrounds and those with varying sexual identities and relationship structures. My ability to hold space with sensitivity and empathy is shaped by global experiences, which help me approach each client’s story with openness and understanding.

I take pride in offering a safe, inclusive space where clients feel supported to explore who they are. I tailor therapy to meet your unique needs and preferences. I strongly believe that you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to work alongside you to uncover solutions that resonate with you.

I am trauma-informed, shame-informed, and neurodiversity-informed, ensuring my practice is sensitive to the unique experiences and challenges clients face.

The values at the heart of my practice are inclusivity, safety, growth, and empowerment. My work is rooted in a pluralist approach, drawing from a range of therapeutic methods. I don’t adhere to a one-size-fits-all model because different approaches work for different people and issues. Together, we will find tools and techniques that feel most effective for you.

I have a particular interest in helping clients with challenges such as compulsive sexual behaviours, erectile dysfunction, ejaculation difficulties, painful sex, and mismatched or low/no sexual desire. I also work with individuals and couples, including those in polyamorous or consensually non-monogamous relationships, to address attachment difficulties, infidelity, communication challenges, and the process of differentiation—helping couples navigate their identities while maintaining connection.

I work with Gender, Sex, and Relationship Diversity (GSRD) and am committed to supporting members of the LGBTQIA+ community and creating an open, affirming space for all. I am completing an advanced diploma in Compulsive Sexual Behaviour (CSB) with the Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology (CICS), expanding my specialist focus on out-of-pattern sexual behaviours, shame, and trauma.
